Other Appellations:
The Viamond Universe (Alpha), Universe 11217 (Universe 161)
Fox Harmonic:
Sigma-Zeta
Astral Connection:
L1 D1
Evidence of this universe having any Astral connection at all is faint to nonexistent. There’s no evidence of telepathy or ghosts or spirits. But there is evidence of a creator deity, which is known by different names to different races–El Shaddai, Adonai, Elyon, and God to name a few, so there must be some Astral connection, however faint. There’s more to this universe than matter and energy.
Caution Rating:
3
As Zero and Gravity’s plight demonstrates, there are corners of their universe that are very wild and very dangerous. ARGO advises caution when traveling through this universe. Be on the lookout for space pirates, territorial mechanical lifeforms whose purpose for being is long forgotten, and xenophobic cultures. Travel in groups, travel armed.

Description:
There are pockets of the universe that are civilized, where war is a thing of aeons past and peaceful coexistence between different cultures is unremarkable and routine. This universe’s version of Earth is fortunate to live in a civilized sector of space But the sector of space which serves as synecdoche for this universe is Wild Space, and it is as chaotic and unpredictable as its name suggests.
In Wild Space, far from Earth, civilizations do not get along. Violence is not unusual. One must defend what they find important or it will be quickly taken from them.
Wild Space is a place of great danger–but also great mystery and adventure. It beckons to the adventurous heart, to the explorer, the pirate, the treasure hunter, and the missionary. It is rich in viamonds–a substance which contains great amounts of energy. When handled properly, viamonds can release enough energy to power starships, and for this reason are valued all around the universe. Viamonds are similar to our perkunite in that they can hold vast amounts of energy, but while perkunite has to be manufactured into star perkunite before it can hold energy, viamonds are naturally occurring, which means viamonds are far more valuable economically speaking than star perkunite. There’s no net gain of energy when it comes to creating star perkunite. It holds what is put in it, meaning once processing, storage, and transport is factored in, there’s a slight net loss in energy. But the energy within a viamond is much greater than the cost of mining it.
Viamonds are the currency of Wild Space. Any civilization that doesn’t want to be an easy target for pirates invests in space faring, thus viamonds become the shared obsession of countless races. The U-Buck civilization is the the leading and most powerful civilization due to their domination of the viamond trade. They prefer to exercise subvert over overt power, however, and enforce their loans and banking with a thriving network of mercenaries–which indirectly encourages space pirates. With the leading civilization willing to fork over lots of viamonds for no-questions-ask retrieval of non-appeal contracts, a lot of resources flow into the hands of a lot of unsavory people.
After the U-Bucks, major civilizations include Aquatika and Aviaq-01, two planets which maintain a tenuous neutral zone between themselves which includes the viamond rich asteroid Jezebel-X. For one to claim Jezebel-X means war, and thus it remains abandoned, a deserted star shared by two skies.
Wild Space is a cutthroat sector, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The different civilizations share a common, important factor–they all worship the same ultimate creator deity, even if they are unaware of it. If they were only more cognizant of this commonality, perhaps they would be less willing to take and more willing to share? The people of Aquatika call him El Shaddai, the people of Aviaq-01 call him Adonai, and the people of Earth, far removed as it is from Wild Space, call him God.
Recently, ARGO has been asked by Earth to assist in a rescue operation. A space station positioned at the ends of Earth’s territory fell victim to a freak asteroid storm. During the evacuation, a young man named Zero and his little sister named Gravity (their father really liked working in space) were swallowed by a wormhole, possibly due to the actions of a nearby worldtunnel, and deposited in Wild Space. Of course, we’re more than willing to help search for the young people, but our probes are not calibrated for Wild Space. The shear amount of viamond radiation in that sector messes with our probes, causing a temporal dilation effect. We can observe events in Wild Space…but only in the past, about a month ago.
We can only record the adventures of Zero and Gravity and pray that God, whatever name he uses, watches over them.
Individuals of Note
Zero
Tasked by his father to look after his sister Gravity, Zero tries to keep a cool head for her sake but is even more overwhelmed by being stranded in Wild Space than she is, for he is more cognizant of the danger they’re in.
Zero is a headstrong young man with the heart of a fighter. He had dreams of becoming a boxing champ and trained diligently on the space station. To help him survive in Wild Space, KooKoo created gauntlet weapons for him which can switch between two modes. The first is a blaster mode for mid-ranged combat and the second surrounds Zero’s fists in a energy construct similar to our world’s photite that greatly amplifies his strength. When combined with his boxing training, these construct gloves allow him to punch out aliens several times his size and shatter stone with his blows.
Zero’s greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. He has the inner strength to stand on his own against overwhelming odds, but it makes it harder for him to trust in the God of his father than his sister. A hard heart is an insensitive heart.

Gravity
Gravity, Grav for short, isn’t sure what tomorrow is going to bring in Wild Space, but she knows she can face it with a strong heart so long as she trusts to God. She managed to take a bible with her before she and her brother evacuated, and while her brother doesn’t think much of scripture, Grav knows deep down that they need faith now more than ever if they’re going to survive.
Grav found living in a space station harder than her brother. He had room for his punching bag, he had room to practice his passion, but she didn’t. She dreamed of being a figure skater, but all she had to work with were the cramped walls of the station.
To help her survive in Wild space, KooKoo gave her an all-purpose survival suit. This armored suit is highly flexible, it must be made off something that works on mechanical principles similar to our rhecite, and not only conforms itself to perfectly fit Grav but can repair itself when damaged. In addition to shielding Grav from danger, the suit comes equipped with blasters built into the gloves and hover jets built into the feet. With Grav’s figure skating training, she can use the hoverjets to zip around opponents, not only keeping herself out of danger but confounding her opponents and setting them up for counterattacks.
After adventuring on the planet of the Onixx tribe, KooKoo upgraded the gloves of Grav’s armor to deliver short-ranged electric shocks, perfect for close combat.

KooKoo
KooKoo, full name KooKooTek Lain from the planet Aviaq-01, whose people know God as Adonai, is an outcast mechanic. Though very skilled, she didn’t get along with her people, and took out a loan from the U-bucks to finance the construction of her own starship, Nameless-01, so she could escape to the stars–which she, unfortunately, didn’t find her fortune, but she did find Zero and Gravity. She took the Earthlings under her wing and outfitted them for survival in Wild Space. She wants to journey with them to Earth, figuring that it must be a pretty nice place if people like Zero and Gravity come from it.

Axxa
Huntress of the Onixx tribe, adopted daughter of Chief Oxx, and now friend of Zero and Gravity.
Shortly after meeting KooKoo, Zero and Gravity found themselves stranded on world full of wild machines that behaved like wildlife, similar to that of Midsommer.
They were soon attacked by Axxa, who assumed they were space pirates–not a far-fetched assumption in Wild Space–but she quickly discovered her mistake after a brief skirmish and apologized. Axxa took them to her village and introduced them to the Onixx tribe, a race of grey-skinned humanoids who lived out of a village created from the husks of giant mechanical insects.
The Onixx tribe are used to fending off space raiders. They are adamant in the belief that they should only use enough technology to get by–certainly no starships. They believe that war and pain waits for them out in the stars…and they aren’t wrong.
Given the Onixx tribe’s tendency to shun technology and the mechanical beasts surrounding them, it is possible we’re looking at a fallen civilization. Someone had to build the machines.
That the Onixx tribe didn’t have spaceships made it hard to repair the Nameless-01, but Axxa had a solution–a guardian egg, a device of nigh-unlimited energy protected by a guardian, an extra-large, extra-dangerous mechanical insect. Given that these guardian eggs come with dedicated protectors and are capable of easily powering starships, its likely that they’re related in some way to viamonds. Maybe the ancestors of the Onixx figured out a way to synthesize viamonds or condense natural viamonds into small orbs? Such condensed energy would make great weapons–weapons that, if improperly handled, could blast a thriving galactic civilization back to the age of hunter gatherers…but this is all speculative.
Axxa is a prideful warrior, skilled in the use of an electrified staff and knuckle dusters, but she isn’t above asking for help when she needs it. She will never forget Grav and Zero helping her avenge her parents.

V-X
When she was but a girl, the mercenary known only as V-X lost her parents to a freak accident. If she had lived in a more stable, civilized section of the universe, she would have been cared for those around her. But comfort is not always to be found in Wild Space. She was taken in by a brutal gang of space raiders. She was forced to prove her strength by fighting other children to the death. In that act of survival, her innocence perished.
One day, she saw an opportunity for escape and took it–but not before she took revenge on all the raiders. Not a one survived the fire she set. Since then, she’s developed a taste for merciless revenge. Those that cross her don’t live long.
Free of the raiders, she became a teenage mercenary and found that she was quite good at it. She uses a flexible, but extremely durable, catsuit whose glove portions can harden into claws capable of shredding metal. She also uses additional weapons such as an energy shield that deploys from her arm and sticky stun pellets that attach to targets and electrocute them–useful when she wants to bring in prey alive.
V-X scored enough bounties to finance the construction of her starship, Scream-01, which can be controlled from the ground by a voice commander built into her suit.
Recently, V-X was hired by the U-bucks to capture KooKoo to collect on her loan and by extension Zero and Gravity, but when the U-bucks tried to pay her in false viamonds, she turned on them, and it was only the intervention of Zero that saved their lives.
V-X enjoys flirting with Zero, much to his annoyance.

Prince Zzak
The young prince of Aquatika, whose people know god as El Shaddai. Much like with Axxa, Zero ended up fighting him over a misunderstanding when they first met.
Zzak fled from Aquatika to take asylum on Aquatika’s neighboring planet Aviaq-01. His aunt wants to kill him so that she may take the throne. She’s temporarily assumed the throne, but if Zzak dies her rule becomes permanent–and that’s very bad not only for Aquatika but Aviaq-01 as she aims to stat a war over the most valuable asteroid in their solar system–Jezebel-X
Zzak and Zero get along very well. They both recognize and respect the other’s fighting spirit. It’s good they get along so well considering he may have feelings for Gravity…

The Sodomm 6 Gang
A trio of mercenary bounty hunters who were drowning their boredom in booze and karaoke at an asteroid bar named Sodomm 6 until they were approached with a very tempting offer–kidnap the queen of Aviaq-01!
Neon is a big green wolfman. What you see is what you get. He’s never the stealth guy, always the muscle.
Colt is the team’s leader and gunman. Though nowhere near as physically imposing as Neon or Mekanika, Colt’s four arms and arsenal of firearms allow him to support his teammates from a distance, either accurately hitting several targets at once or concentrating fire to overwhelm a single target.
Mekanika is a heavily augmented cyborg who stretch her form out to tower over foes and back up Neon as a bruiser, but her true strength is in covert operations. Her hair braid can interface with a variety of computer systems and allow her to bypass security systems.
