The Lands of the Mecha Beasts are wild, untamed lands. That the Eagle Tribe are warriors is a testament to how dangerous their world can be. Their world is both enemy and provider.
Multiverse Activity:
Inactive
Though the multiverse was known to the ancient Unicorns, they never interacted with it (and it’s probably for the best that they didn’t), and when their civilization collapsed knowledge of the multiverse entered the realm of legends and stories with them.

Description:
For some worlds, their history is both ubiquitous and obscure. Case in point, the history of the tribes that inhabit the the Lands of the Mecha Beasts, a mysterious land that lends itself as synecdoche for its universe. All tribesmen know about the mecha beasts. They know about the cy-sharks and uni-spiders and cyber manticores. These are natural creatures, wildlife sometimes harvested and hunted. But not a soul knows where they came from.
Long ago, the Lands of the Mecha Beasts were ruled over by the Unicorns, a race who were advanced in technology but expansionistic and ambitious-a recipe for disaster we’ve seen time and time again. Their civilization collapsed, taking the other civilizations with it, but their machines survived. The still-functional wreckage of their industry litters the planet. Some machines are just as the Unicorns left them, just waiting for someone that remembers how to turn them on to spring back to life. Other machines have merged with the wildlife, evolving alongside them, evolving with them, until they have become the wildlife.
This makes the Lands of the Mecha Beasts an example of what ARGO calls “Siaion worlds,” named for the Siaion Totality of our universe. The Siaion are one of the oldest races in our universe. When they made war among themselves, they feared for the survival of the innocent lifeforms they shared a planet with. So that some aspect of the beasts that roamed the land, birds that soared the air, and fish that swam the sea would survive the apocalypse they knew was their fault, the Siaion created artificial life to mirror the characteristics and behaviors of the animals so that a record would remain of natural life.
When the Siaion blew themselves back to the stone age, their creations survived, and created a thriving ecosystem from which they could rebuild their world. Where their distant ancestors harvested meat from animals, they harvested batteries. The Siaion’s artificials became well-loved by the Form Masters. They could be place in any environment, model it’s inhabitants, and form symbiotic relationships for mutual benefit. The Form Masters were in awe of the variety of novel lifeforms Siaion symbiosis could create.
Siaion worlds are worlds where the natural biosphere merges with a artificial system. Broadly, this would include worlds which, like Hera City in Antarctica, feature artificials effecting and being effected by nature. The digital Hesperides of Hera City care for the massive country-sized garden created by the Hera City’s heatsink melting the surrounding ice by controlling drones and in turn this garden is mapped digitally to local kyberspace. The Herperides effect and are effected by nature and find this a supremely fulfilling way to live. But more specifically, Siaion worlds imply a bio-artificial sphere alongside a population which remains somewhat detached from the sphere by being ignorant of the sphere’s origins. Midsommer provides a good example. The Oyani know how the bio-mechanical wildlife around them functions, and they can make effective use of their wildlife, but there are elements of their bio-artificial sphere that remain mysterious to them, just as elements of the bio-artificial sphere of the Lands of the Mecha Beasts remain mysterious to the tribes that live in them–tribes such as the Eagle Tribe.
The Eagle Tribe is led by Chief Mace and prides itself on its warrior heritage. Though not aggressive, they train constantly in order to repel attacks from mecha beasts. The greatest warrior of the Eagle Tribe is Chief Mace’s daughter Liz.
For her birthday, Chief Mace asked if there was anything he could get Liz, and she asked for a Unicorn, and while he had no idea where one might be found, an old woman did, and directed Liz to a nearby mountain to find a fountain…
You see, the Unicorns survived the collapse of their civilization.
There are fountains scattered throughout the Lands of the Mecha Beasts that contain unicorns. Ancient writing on each fountain states “If you feel worthy, soak your hand and ask for a friend.” These fountains bring to mind the punishments inflicted on evil genies in the 1000 and 1 Kingdoms. It seems that someone, possibly the Unicorns themselves, placed the Unicorns in suspended animation to be released in the future as servants to younger, weaker, and more primitive races.
But Liz had no idea the Unicorn that would pop out of the fountain would be bipedal, talking, and kind of goofy. So much time had past since the time of the Unicorns that they were remembered very differently from how they actually were. Liz thought she was going to get a four-legged, pink steed to ride on.
At first, Liz and her Unicorn, whose name was Bell, didn’t get along. Bell was boisterous and weird–it had been a long time since she was up and about–but nothing forges bonds like fighting off mecha beasts together, and now the two are inseparable.
And its a good thing Liz and Bell work well together, because a shadowy mastermind calling herself Lady Felix has kidnapped her father and an ancient object of great power guarded by her tribe–the Eye of the Tiger, a device which coats a user in power, self-generating armor…
Liz
Liz is the daughter of Chief Mace of the Eagle tribe, which makes her a warrior princess. The best fighter in the tribe, Liz is skilled in fighting with double blades. When she needs to get somewhere in a hurry, she rides a voice-activated hoverbike named Dakota (because Bell sure isn’t going to let her ride her).
Though Liz is impulsive and adventurous (its how she got paired with Bell in the first place) she has a strong since of responsibility and pride. When Lady Felix steals the Eye of the Tiger from her tribe and kidnaps her father, she sets out to retrieve the Eye and rescue her father regardless of the danger.

Bell
Summoned from out of a long confinement in a fountain by Liz, Bell, short for Belladonna, is Liz’s Unicorn friend for life!
Unaccustomed to the ways of the young world she finds herself in, she’s socially awkward and often vexes Liz by acting the fool. Boisterous and big-hearted, she always speaks her mind…unless it involves the past. Bell is extremely evasive when it comes to Liz asking questions about Unicorns, and their technology, and what Bell was like before she found herself in a fountain.
It’s understandable given how dark her people’s history is.
Though she carries a lot of regrets on her mind and darkness in her heart, Bell is determined to be as effervescent as possible. She loves to tell bad jokes and try new food.

Lady Felix
A mysterious woman who leads a small army of cy-sharks. She seems to be after power given that she stole the Eye of the Tiger from the Eagle Tribe–but maybe something else. She didn’t have to take the Chief alive, and yet she did so. Why she did so is not yet known.
She is skilled in using the old technology, but her arrogance in utilizing it may lead to her downfall. One shouldn’t readily mess with things that take an entire tribe to guard.

Thorn
Lady Felix’s right-hand, no-hands, cy-shark minion. Metamorphic metal on her arms and tail allow her to wield three weapons at once, whatever her twisted like brain can imagine. Much is unknown about Thorn. Her manic demeanor and inability to take anything seriously speaks to a horrible past. She is not truly evil. She is simply a broken, mismatched creature fallen into the hands of a dark manipulator.
